World, Hear Me Cry
World, won’t you hear my cry
I scream while reaching the sky
All the ways I am broken and bent
All the ways my bones have been spent
Wrung dry by circumstances I did not choose
Fighting fate’s restraint, I am battered and bruised
Who will answer to these injustices I claim
When there is no one, no one to blame
If this is life, if this is how it must be
I cannot let it bury me
I vow, one day, my struggles won’t be in vain
No matter how tightly I am bound by chains
For in my suffering lies the meaning
Through my pain, a purpose is beaming
For it is in the depths of my despair
That I unearth strength beyond compare
When I am called to it, I rise
Roaring like thunderous skies
So world, hear my cry
For even storms start with a scream to the sky
