Tendrils and Vines

Inspiration

This project came about while playing with my other project, Scribbles and Dribbles. I felt that the project could yield different outputs if given certain different inputs, so I got to experimenting, which created this - Tendrils and Vines.

Naming

Initially, I wanted to name this piece "Leaves of Grass," as I am a huge fan of Walt Whitman. However, after further considerations and opinions from others, I decided the plant imagery in the piece might not be very apparent at first viewing. So to make the plant connection more clear - and on the nose - I settled on Tendrils and Vines.

Process

I tweaked Scribbles and Dribbles's original algorithm so that the noise() values were different from Scribbles and Dribbles and the map() function used different parameters to map the noise value. These slight tweaks created completely different artwork that is Tendrils and Vines. Otherwise, the Scribbles and Dribbles original algorithm stayed the same.

Final Note

As with all of my other sketches, this project is set to refresh every fifteen seconds. Every refresh generates a new artwork that is unique and will never be recreated. Once a new refresh happens, the old artwork is gone forever. Never to be created again.

You can view the complete project here.
